The task was to conceptualize and design a promotional album release video for FKA Twig’s new album: EUSEXUA Afterglow.
This project was a collaboration with Joy Loi.
After the rave, comes a void to fill from ecstasy’s absece. It brings a moment of contemplation with lingering emotions in the hollow silence. The colors from a rave become somber. The veil blankets the emotion and memorizas these moments of human connection in its folds. In these moments, you are free but there lies a thread of danger.

The approach was 90% practical and only 10% digital editing. We captured images using materials like lights, proyectors, fabrics, clay and other elements like chairs and rocks.
Raw Photos
For the typography, we chose an option that was simple yet unique like FKA Twigs. The choice was Aktiv Grotesk Extended. A typeface that “is just there” and reminiscent of a cheap hotel.
This project relied on photography and improvisation skills. Although, it was a new apprach for Joy and me, we rose to the challenge bringing a bold an innovative concept to life, that not only aligns deeply with the artist, but also with their story.
